BIMtrace is a fast, low-cost, lightweight tool for reality capture and model-reality comparison. After device calibration, users capture photos on-site using their device and indicate the position where the photo was taken on a 2D map. After exporting the Note through email or a cloud service, photo Notes are aligned to the model through a quick guided process. Indicate 4 edge correspondences between the photo Note and the Navisworks model and you’re done. Now you can measure dimensions in the photo and share it with the team. Since photo Notes are in JPG format, no special software is required for team members to view aligned Notes.
